Brad Hostasa, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College men's basketball team, has been named the National Christian College Athletic Association Player of the Week for his performance during the week of March 1-7.

Hostasa, a 6-foot-2 senior forward from Newark, Ohio, led the Cougars to the American Mideast Conference Tournament title with 24 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals in a 107-89 victory over top-seeded Malone College. The former Utica High School star connected on 9-of-14 field goal attempts (64.3 percent) including a 3-for-5 performance from beyond the three-point arc.

With the victory, MVNC (26-6) will now advance to the NAIA Division II National Tournament in Nampa, Idaho, for the second straight year. This marks the first time that the Cougars have won the conference tournament and earned an automatic berth in the national event. MVNC's first round game will be Thursday, March 11, at 8:00 p.m. Mountain Time against Huron (SD) University (20-10).
