Chad Gress, a standout golfer at River View High School, has announced that he will attend Mount Vernon Nazarene College in the fall of 1999 to continue his golf career and further his education.
Gress, a native of Coshocton, Ohio, was a four-year letterman and a four-time Most Valuable Player for the Black Bears. He was also selected to the All-Muskingum Valley League Team and Eastern District First Team three times.
"I feel that Chad will make an immediate impact on the golf program at MVNC," said MVNC head coach Mike O’Hara. "He is a very solid player with a great background for competition. He comes from a hotbed of great golfers in the Coshocton area. We are looking forward to Chad’s contributions to our program over the next four years."
One of Gress’ best performances came on October 15, 1998, when he fired a 63 at the River Greens Golf Course on his way to winning the River Greens State High School preview.
