Ehren Hull, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene College men’s basketball team, has been selected as the American Mideast Conference and National Christian College Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his performance in games played during the week of November 30-December 6.
Hull, a 6-foot-2 senior guard from Canton, Ohio, was named the Most Valuable Player of the Food for the Hungry Holiday Invitational after scoring 29 points in a 108-98 come-from-behind win over Olivet Nazarene (IL) University, who is ranked #21 in NAIA Division I. He netted 22 points in only 15 minutes of action in a 115-51 romp versus Niagara (ONT) College in the first round of the tournament, and he poured in 25 points during a 107-82 rout of Ohio Valley (WV) College in his opening game of the week.
The former GlenOak High School standout shot 69 percent from the field, drilled 13-of-21 three-point attempts for 62 percent, and connected on 71 percent of his free throw attempts. Hull also became the Cougars’ career leader in three-point field goals (319) and moved into sixth place on MVNC’s all-time scoring list with 1,621 points.
The Cougars, ranked #1 in NAIA Division II, are currently 9-0 and have tied the school record for most consecutive wins to start the season. MVNC will return to action on Tuesday, December 15, when the Cougars will host the University of Rio Grande, ranked #22 in NAIA Division I, at 7:30 p.m.
