For Mount Vernon Nazarene College middle hitter Tara Seiter, it seemed like the awards just kept coming. After an outstanding week, Seiter has been named the Volleyball Player of the Week in the Mid-Ohio Conference, the Great Lakes Region, the National Christian College Athletic Association, and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for her performance in matches played October 20-26.

Seiter, a 5-foot-10 junior from Waldo, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars (33-6) to a 5-1 week that included the NCCAA East Region title. She was also selected the NCCAA East Region Player of the Year by the coaches at the regional tournament.

The former River Valley High School star began the week with 23 kills, 24 digs, and five blocks in a three-game sweep of the University of Rio Grande. In that match, she recorded the second-best kills per game average in school history (7.67).

Seiter followed that performance with 12 kills, 20 digs, four blocks, and three aces in a five-game setback at NCAA Division II Mercyhurst (PA) College.

At the NCCAA East Regionals, Seiter totaled 35 kills to lead MVNC to four straight-game sweeps. She also added 16 blocks, 23 digs, and seven aces during the tournament.

For the week, Seiter averaged 3.89 kills per game, 1.39 blocks per game, 3.72 digs per game, and .61 aces per game over 18 games. She also posted a .318 attack percentage and was successful on 95 percent of her serve attempts and 95.2 of her serve reception attempts.

Seiter becomes only the fourth Lady Cougar volleyball player and seventh MVNC athlete overall to receive NAIA National Player of the Week honors. She is also the only volleyball player to receive MOC Player of the Week honors three times in a season two consecutive years.
