Mandy Metzger, a member of the MVNC women's volleyball team, has been named the Mid-Ohio Conference Setter of the Week for her performances in matches played during the week of October 13-19.
Metzger, a 5-foot-4 junior setter from Hudson, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a 2-0 mark during the week that included road victories over conference foes Tiffin University and Ohio Dominican College.
The former Hudson High School standout doled out 24 assists and added 11 digs in a sweep of Tiffin. Against Ohio Dominican, Metzger recorded 35 assists and seven digs in another straight game victory.
For the week, Metzger averaged 9.83 assists per game and 3.00 digs per contest. She was also perfect on 39 serve attempts as she increased her serving percentage to 97.8 percent for the season.
With her efforts during the week, Metzger is now averaging 5.57 assists per game for the season which ranks her seventh in the MOC.
The Lady Cougars are currently 27-5 overall and 10-2 in the MOC. MVNC is ranked sixth in this week's NAIA Great Lakes region poll.
