Dapprich, a senior forward, had a record-breaking season for the Cougars with 25 goals and 67 points, both single-season records. He was also second on the team in assists with 17. Pearce, a sophomore midfielder, set a school record with 18 assists this season. He also found the back of the net 10 times to total 38 points for the year. Vaagenes, a senior midfielder, scored three goals this season and passed out nine assists. Bush, a junior goalkeeper, established a school record of his own with six shutouts.

Furey was honored for guiding the Cougars to a 14-6-1 mark in 1997 after a 4-14-1 mark a year ago. MVNC set school records for victories, goals scored, assists, and shutouts.
