
Mount Vernon Nazarene College honored its men's golf team and women's fastpitch softball team at their annual banquet on Monday evening.
The men's golf team, which posted a 93-24-2 overall record, named senior Scott Savage as the team's Most Valuable Player and sophomore Kasey Hall as the Cougar Award recipient.
The women's fastpitch softball team, which posted a 20-16 overall mark and finished third at the National Christian College Athletic Association national tournament, selected freshman pitcher Tara Hines as the team's MVP and named freshman Angie Svagerko as the Cougar Award recipient.
Cougar Sports Associates also honored golfer Matt Durst as the Freshman of the Year for the spring sports. Durst played in every tournament for the Cougars in his first year at MVNC.
