Mount Vernon Nazarene College center Tara Seiter has been named the Mid-Ohio Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played January 12-18. This is the second straight week that Seiter has earned this honor.

Seiter, a six-foot junior from Waldo, Ohio, averaged 17.0 points and 7.5 rebounds as the Lady Cougars extended their winning streak to a season-high four straight games with two more victories.

The highlight came in a 73-62 upset of Shawnee State University, who entered the game ranked #3 in NAIA Division II. Seiter totalled 16 points and nine rebounds in the victory, and became the eighth MVNC women's player as well as the school's first junior to reach 1,000 career points. The win also ended the Lady Bears' 30-game conference winning streak.

Seiter opened the week with 18 points, six rebounds, and four assists in a 77-65 victory against Cedarville College. For the week, she shot 55.6 percent from the field and 82.4 percent at the charity stripe.

Seiter currently ranks second in the conference in rebounding (8.6 rebounds per game) and blocked shots (0.9 blocks per game). She is also tied for sixth in scoring (13.2 points per game).

MVNC is now 11-9 overall and 5-2 in the MOC. The Lady Cougars will host Walsh University at 7:00 p.m. on January 20. The Lady Cavaliers will enter the game 15-2 overall and in first place in the conference with a 6-1 mark.
