Ehren Hull

Mount Vernon Nazarene College guard Ehren Hull has been named the NAIA and National Christian College Athletic Association National Men's Basketball Player of the Week as well as the Mid-Ohio Conference Player of the Week for his performance in games during the week of January 19-25.

Hull, a 6-foot-2 junior from Canton, Ohio, poured in 70 points to pace the Cougars, ranked third in NAIA Division II, to a pair of victories on the week. He scored 28 points in a 96-83 win against sixth-ranked Walsh University, and then buried eight three-pointers on his way to a career-high 42 points in a 110-98 decision over Tiffin University.

For the week, Hull made 62.2 percent of his field goal attempts overall and was 13-of-23 outside the three-point arc for 56.5 percent. He connected on 78.6 percent of his free throws to go along with six rebounds, five assists, five steals, and one blocked shot.

Hull currently ranks third in the conference in steals per game (2.1) and is seventh in scoring (17.4 points per game).

Hull becomes only the eighth MVNC athlete to receive NAIA National Player of the Week honors, but the third this school year (Scott Dapprich in soccer and Tara Seiter in volleyball). He joins Jason Hall as the only two Cougar basketball players to achieve this honor.

MVNC is now 18-3 overall and in first place in the MOC with an 8-1 mark. The Cougars will put their school record-tying nine-game winning streak on the line when they host Malone College at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, at 7:30 p.m.
