Mount Vernon Nazarene College forward Brad Hostasa has been named the Mid-Ohio Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance in games during the week of December 29 through January 4.
Hostasa, a 6-foot-3 junior from Newark, Ohio, led the Cougars to a 79-64 non-conference victory over the University of Windsor (Ontario). In that contest, he recorded game-highs of 28 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and four steals. He also connected on 12 of 19 shots from the field (63.2 percent) including a trio of three-pointers.
Hostasa currently ranks fourth in the MOC in scoring (18.5 points per game) and is sixth in field goal percentage (53.9 percent).
MVNC is now 11-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference. The Cougars will host the University of Rio Grande in an important MOC contest at 7:30 p.m. on January 6.
