Mount Vernon Nazarene College center Todd Sands has been named the Mid-Ohio Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance during the week of November 24-30.
Sands, a 6-foot-7 junior from Centerburg, Ohio, led the Cougars to a 109-81 victory at Ohio Valley (WV) College. In that contest, Sands scored a career-high 30 points on 14-of-17 shooting from the field. He also grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds, blocked five shots, dished out three assists, and recorded a steal.
Sands currently leads the MOC in field goal accuracy at an incredible 80.0 percent clip. He also ranks third in scoring (20.7 points per game) and rebounding (9.1 rebounds per game.)
MVNC is now 6-1 and will travel to Ohio State University at Newark on December 2 for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference game.
