Linger, a junior forward from Bexley,
Ohio, assisted on both goals as the Lady
Cougars rallied from a 1-0 deficit to score
twice in the final four minutes of MVNU's
MCC Tournament semifinal match at No. 2 seed
Grace (Ind.) College to shock the Lady
Lancers. The former Bexley High School star
is tied for the team lead in both goals (6)
and assists (3).
Dobson, a senior
defender from Mount Vernon, Ohio, anchored
the Lady Cougars' defense that allowed MVNU
a chance to come back in the match at Grace
after giving up a first-half goal. The
former Mount Vernon High School standout was
honored with the weekly conference defensive
award for the second time this season.
With the victory over Grace, the Lady
Cougars (10-7-2), who are the No. 3 seed in
the tournament, will advance to face No. 1
seed and MCC regular-season champion Spring
Arbor (Mich.) University on their home
field. Spring Arbor (17-2-1) is currently
ranked No. 10 in the latest NAIA poll.
Saturday's match will start at 7 p.m.
