Six MVNU Runners Earn Capital One
Academic
All-District Honors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (6-7-2012) - Six members
of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University
men's and women's cross country teams were
recently honored when the Capital One
College Division Academic All-District Track
and Field/Cross Country Teams were announced
by the College Sports Information Directors
of America (CoSIDA).
On the MVNU
women's cross country team, senior Caitlin
Edwards (3.86, Public Relations major) and
juniors Melissa Keiser (3.67, Psychology and
Sociology double major) and Brittany Richter
(3.67, Public Relations major) were honored,
while seniors Nate Winters (3.58, Chemistry
major) and Kevin Poast (3.59, Communication
Studies major) along with junior Anthony Lee
(3.84, Sports Management major) represented
the MVNU men's cross country team.

The Capital One College Division
Academic All-District candidates are
nominated by the sports information
directors of their respective schools who
are CoSIDA members and then voted on by all
the district members. The district that MVNU
is in encompasses 15 states along the east
coast as well as Washington D.C. To be
eligible, a student-athlete must be at least
a sophomore in their second year of
attendance at their current school with a
3.30 grade point average or higher. Capital
One College Division Academic All-District
First Team honorees are then eligible for
consideration for one of the three Capital
One College
Division Academic All-America Teams.
