MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (2-21-2012) - Sierra
Fletcher, a member of the Mount Vernon
Nazarene University women's basketball team,
has been selected to the Mid-Central College
Conference Second Team by the vote of the
conference coaches.
Fletcher,
a senior guard from Utica, Ohio, has been
among the conference leaders in numerous
statistical categories all season. The
former Utica High School star leads the MCC
in steals (80), ranks fourth in 3-pointers
made (54), fifth in 3-point percentage
(34.4), fifth in free throw percentage
(80.6), fifth in assists (92), and sixth in

Fletcher has helped lead MVNU to a 16-12
overall record that includes a current
five-game winning streak to close the
regular season and earn the team a vote in
the most recent NAIA Division II poll. The
Lady Cougars finished MCC play with an 8-10
conference mark to earn the No. 7 seed in
the MCC Tournament that gets under way
tonight. MVNU travels to No. 2 seed Bethel
(Ind.) College for a 7 p.m. first round tip
against the NAIA Division II No. 18 Lady
Pilots (20-9). The winner of tonight's game
will face the winner of the game between No.
3 seed Huntington (Ind.) University and No.
6 seed Marian (Ind.) University on Friday at
7 p.m. in the MCC Tournament semifinals.
