MVNU's Albrecht Named Player of the Week
for Fourth Time

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (10-30-2010) - Jackie
Albrecht, a member of the Mount Vernon
Nazarene University women's volleyball team,
has been selected as the American Mideast
Conference Player of the Week for the fourth
time this season including the third time in
the past four weeks as she was honored for
her performance in matches from October
18-24.
Albrecht, a senior middle hitter from
Lexington, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a
3-0 record for the week as she averaged 3.80
kills, 2.50 digs, and 0.90 blocks while
posting a .348 attack percentage. She
pounded 11 kills in a conference sweep at
Cedarville University, added 11 more kills
in a sweep of Lourdes College, and then
capped the week with 16 kills in a four-set
win at the University of Northwestern Ohio.
On the season, the former Mansfield
Christian School star leads MVNU in kills
(535) and kills per set (3.93). She has also
recorded 40 aces, 98 blocks, and 382 digs.
For her career, she ranks third in school
history with 2,212 kills and seventh with
1,994 digs. She is looking to become only
the third player in program history to have
2,000 kills and 2,000 digs.
The Lady Cougars, who received votes in the
latest NAIA poll, are currently 37-2 overall
and 8-0 in the AMC. MVNU has won 20 straight
matches heading into a non-conference
tri-match at Shawnee State University on
Saturday afternoon. The University of Rio
Grande is the third team in the tri-match. |  |
