Five Cougars Earn AMC Men's Soccer

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (11-10-2010) - Five
members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene
University men's soccer team were recently
honored when the American Mideast Conference
awards were announced.
Kemar Jackson, a senior defender from St.
Catherine, Jamaica, was named to the AMC
First Team for the second straight year. The
former Wolmers High School product has
anchored the Cougars' defense that has
posted seven shutouts. He has also scored a
team-high 11 goals to go with two assists.

Cody Snouffer, a senior forward from
Delaware, Ohio, joined Jackson on the AMC
First Team after being an AMC Second Team
selection a year ago. The former Delaware
Christian School star has recorded eight
goals and seven assists to rank second for
MVNU in both categories this season.
Chris Allen, a junior forward from St.
Catherine, Jamaica, was named to the AMC
Second Team for the second straight season.
The former Kingston College High School
graduate has scored eight goals and leads
the Cougars with nine assists this year.
Jake Reber, a senior midfielder from Hilton,
N.Y., joined Allen on the AMC Second Team.
The former Hilton High School standout has
started all 19 matches for MVNU and has
registered nine assists this season.

Eric Appiah, a junior defender from
Asamankese, Ghana, was an AMC Honorable
Mention selection. The former Aggrey
Memorial High School product has recorded
three assists while also helping the
Cougars' defense post seven shutouts.
MVNU is currently 11-7-1 overall and
finished third in the AMC standings with a
5-2-1 conference mark. The Cougars will
begin play in the NCCAA East Region
Tournament next Thursday with a semifinal
match at home against Nyack (N.Y.) College.
The game time has not yet been announced.
