Estep and Loewen Earn NCCAA All-American
Honors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (12-13-2010) - Jessica
Estep and Jenessa Loewen, two members of the
Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's
soccer team, were recently honored when the
National Christian College Athletic
Association All-American Teams were
announced.

Estep, a senior midfielder from
Mansfield, Ohio, was named to the NCCAA
All-American First Team for the first time
in her career after twice being on the NCCAA
All-American Second Team and once being an
NCCAA Honorable Mention All-American. The
former Madison High School star led the Lady
Cougars with 13 goals and seven assists this
season and had seven game-winning goals. She
finishes her career ranked third in school
history in goals (65) and points (150) and
fifth in assists (20).
Loewen, a senior goalkeeper from Gravenhurst,
Ontario, was selected as an NCCAA Honorable
Mention All-American as she capped of an
outstanding four-year career. The former
Gravenhurst High School standout tied the
school record with 14 shutouts this season
in 24 matches while posting a 0.63 goals
against average and 136 saves. For her
career, she ranks first in school history
with 37 shutouts and a 0.92 goals against
average.
MVNU finished the 2010 season with a 14-8-2
overall record and a 6-4 American Mideast
Conference mark. The Lady Cougars finished
tied for seventh at the NCCAA National
Tournament in Kissimmee, Fla.
