Three Lady Cougars Earn NCCAA
All-American Honors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (12-13-2010) - Three
members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene
University women's volleyball team were
recently honored when the National Christian
College Athletic Association All-American
Teams were announced.

Leading the way for the Lady Cougars was
senior middle hitter Jackie Albrecht from
Lexington, Ohio, who was named to the NCCAA
All-American First Team for the third
straight year. Albrecht also earned a share
of the NCCAA National Player of the Year
award along with Mariela Quesada of Palm
Beach Atlantic (Fla.) University after being
the NCCAA Player of the Year in 2009.
On the season, Albrecht led the Lady Cougars
with 722 kills and 50 aces. The former
Mansfield Christian School star also posted
129 blocks, 518 digs, a .309 attack
percentage, a .961 serving percentage, and a
.947 serve reception percentage.
Caitlin Myles, a senior libero from
Centerburg, Ohio, was selected to the NCCAA
All-American Second Team. The former
Centerburg High School product led MVNU and
the NAIA with a school-record 945 digs. She
also set a new school record with a .965
serve reception percentage and served up 20
aces with a .977 serving percentage.
Lauren Percival, a sophomore setter from
Elyria, Ohio, joined Myles on the NCCAA
All-American Second Team. The former Amherst
Steele High School standout handed out 1,823
assists this year to go along with 48 aces,
56 blocks, 108 kills, and 643 digs. She also
posted a .960 serving percentage.
MVNU finished the season with a 43-6 overall
record and a perfect 10-0 American Mideast
Conference mark. The Lady Cougars went 2-2
in pool play at the NCCAA National
Tournament.
