MVNU's Jackson Named NAIA Second Team All-American

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (12-10-2010) - Kemar Jackson, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team, was recently named an NAIA Second Team All-American when the awards were announced following the NAIA national championship match.

Jackson, a senior defender from St. Catherine, Jamaica, becomes only the second MVNU men's soccer player to be a two-time NAIA All-American as he was also an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American last year. Former Cougar standout and all-time leading scorer Josh Robson was a two-time NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 1999 and 2000.

This season, Jackson started all 21 matches and led the team in minutes played with 1,753 as he helped the defense post seven shutouts. The former Wolmers High School standout also led MVNU with a career-high 12 goals to go along with three assists.

For his career, Jackson helped the Cougars post 49 shutouts while playing in 91 career matches. He also finishes with 19 goals and seven assists for his career.

MVNU finished the 2010 season with a 12-7-2 overall record and a 5-2-1 American Mideast Conference mark.
