MVNU's Albrecht Repeats as NAIA Second
Team All-American

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (12-6-2010) - Jackie
Albrecht, a member of the Mount Vernon
Nazarene University women's volleyball team,
has been selected to the NAIA All-American
Second Team for the second straight year
when the All-American Teams were released by
the NAIA national office on Monday.
Albrecht,
a senior middle hitter from Lexington, Ohio,
becomes the first player in MVNU women's
volleyball program history to be a two-time
NAIA Second Team All-American and she joins
former Lady Cougar standout Shena Beheler as
the only two players to earn some form of
NAIA All-American honors three different
times. Albrecht was also an NAIA Honorable
Mention All-American in 2008, while Beheler
was a two-time NAIA Honorable Mention
All-American in 2005 and 2006 and an NAIA
Second Team All-American in 2007.
On the season, Albrecht led the entire NAIA
with 722 kills – the fourth highest
single-season total in school history. The
former Mansfield Christian School star also
compiled 50 aces, 129 blocks, and 518 digs.
She had a .309 attack percentage, a .961
serving percentage, and a .947 serve
reception percentage. Among her many honors
this year, she repeated as the American
Mideast Conference Player of the Year.
For her career, Albrecht ranks third in
school history in kills (2,399), fourth in
serve attempts (2,693), seventh in digs
(2,130), eighth in total blocks (567), and
ninth in aces (180).
MVNU finished the 2010 season with a 43-6
overall record. The Lady Cougars won the AMC
regular-season title with a perfect 10-0
