Brady Swanson, a member of
the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s
soccer team, has been selected as the
American Mideast Conference Defensive Player
of the Week for his performance during the
week of October 12-18.
Swanson, a senior
defender from Mount Vernon, Ohio, led the
Cougars to a 1-0 record for the week as MVNU
posted a 1-0 conference road win at Shawnee
State University. In that contest, the
former Mount Vernon High School standout
helped anchor the Cougars’ defense that
allowed just six total shots and none on
goal as the team posted their ninth shutout
of the season.
On the season, Swanson has started all 15
matches and leads the team with 1,367
minutes played. He has also scored two
goals. For his career, he has played in 79
career matches with 68 starts and has been a
part of 29 career shutouts. He has also
scored 12 goals and added four assists.
MVNU is currently 10-4-1 overall and
4-1-1 in the AMC. The Cougars will be back
in action at Walsh University on Saturday
night for a conference match that will kick
off at 7:00 p.m.
