The Mount Vernon Nazarene
University men’s basketball team will host
Athletes in Action on Wednesday, October 21,
at 6:30 p.m. in an exhibition game as the
Cougars make final preparations for the
2009-2010 hoops season.

AIA teams are made up of former college
and professional players who travel
throughout the country and around the world
playing college, club, and professional
teams and sharing their testimonies. The
mission of AIA is to use the platform of
sports as a way to spread the Gospel. The
game with MVNU will be the fourth game of
the team’s fall tour.
"This is a great opportunity for our guys
to compete against a highly-talented team as
we try to find out where we stand in our
preparation for our first game in just a few
weeks,” said MVNU first-year coach Matt
Moore. "By no means will we be able to just
show up due to the amount of playing
experience and basketball savvy these
players have. We truly appreciate the
ministry of Athletes in Action and their
mission to further God’s kingdom through
basketball. We would also like to thank all
the fans who come out and support Cougar
Basketball.”
Admission to the game will be $1.00 for
students and $3.00 for adults. All proceeds
from the event will go directly to AIA to
help with their ministry.
MVNU, which went 23-9 last year for its
twelfth 20-win season in the past 13 years
and advanced to the NAIA Division II
national tournament for the fourth straight
season, will open the regular season at
Indiana Institute of Technology on Tuesday,
November 7 at 3:00 p.m.
