Misamore, a senior defender from Findlay,
Ohio, was named to the ESPN The Magazine®
Academic All-District IV Third Team after
previously earning a spot on the ESPN The

matches she has played in this season and
has scored three goals. She has also been a
key component to the Lady Cougars’ back line
success as she has combined with Misamore in
leading the team to 10 shutouts. Hughes is a
Psychology major with a 3.71 grade point
average.
The ESPN The Magazine® Academic
All-District IV College Division teams are
selected by members of CoSIDA. Eligible
student-athletes must have at least a 3.30
grade point average and be at least in their
sophomore year. The District IV College
Division is made up of NCAA Division II and
III and NAIA schools in Alabama, Kentucky,
Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee. Academic
All-District First Team selections are then
eligible for the national ballot and
Academic All-America consideration.
MVNU finished the season with an 11-6-2
overall record. The Lady Cougars posted an
8-3 American Mideast Conference mark to
finish second in the regular-season
standings, and then the team won the AMC
Tournament for the first time in program
history to earn the school’s first-ever
berth into the NAIA National Championship
Opening Round where MVNU fell 3-0 to No. 2
seed and defending NAIA national champion
Lee (Tenn.) University.
