Three members of the Mount
Vernon Nazarene University men’s soccer team
were recently honored when the ESPN The
Magazine® Academic All-District IV and
Academic All-America College Division Teams
were announced by the College Sports
Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Chris Mast, a junior midfielder from
Smithville, Ohio, led the way for the
Cougars as he was named to the ESPN The
Magazine® Academic All-District IV First
Team for the second team and also selected
to the ESPN The Magazine® Academic
All-America Second Team. The former Central
Christian High School standout has started
all 23 matches this season and is tied for
the team lead with nine goals to go along
with three assists. Mast now has 13 career
goals and 12 career assists. He is an
Accounting and Financial Management double
major with a 3.84 grade point average.
Brady Swanson, a senior defender from
Mount Vernon, Ohio, was named to the ESPN
The Magazine® Academic All-District IV
Second Team. The former Mount Vernon High
School product has started all 23 matches
this season and has played in all but 13
minutes this season as he leads the team
with 2,097 minutes played. Swanson, who has
scored four goals to up his career total to
14 goals to go along with four career
assists, has helped the back line tie the
school record with 14 shutouts this year. He
is a Spanish (Multi-age Education) major
with a 3.79 grade point average.
Cody Snouffer, a junior midfielder from
Delaware, Ohio, joined Swanson on the ESPN
The Magazine® Academic All-District IV
Second Team. The former Delaware Christian
High School star is tied for the team lead
in goals (9) and assists (11) and now has 17
career goals and 19 career assists. Snouffer
is a Spanish and Intercultural Studies
double major with a 3.93 grade point
average.
The ESPN The Magazine® Academic
All-District IV College Division teams are
selected by members of CoSIDA. Eligible
student-athletes must have at least a 3.30
grade point average and be at least in their
sophomore year. The District IV College
Division is made up of NCAA Division II and
III and NAIA schools in Alabama, Kentucky,
Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee. Academic
All-District First Team selections are then
eligible for the national ballot and
Academic All-America consideration.
MVNU is currently 15-6-2 overall. The
Cougars will compete in the National
Christian College Athletic Association
National Tournament in Kissimmee, Fla.,
beginning on December 2 with a first round
match against Covenant (Ga.) College at 2:30
p.m.
