Stout and Jackson Earn NAIA All-American
Honors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (12-30-2009) - Alex Stout
and Kemar Jackson, two members of the Mount
Vernon Nazarene University men’s soccer
team, were recently honored when the NAIA
All-American Teams were announced.

Stout, a senior goalkeeper from
Pataskala, Ohio, was named to the NAIA
All-American Third Team as he became only
the third player in program history to make
one of the three NAIA All-American Teams
joining Zach Patterson (First Team) and Adam
Worrall (Third Team) who were both honored
last year. The former Watkins Memorial High
School star capped off a stellar career by
posting a 0.77 goals against average and
tying his own school record with 14 shutouts
in 2009. Stout finishes his career with a
school-record 40 shutouts and a program-best
0.90 goals against average.
Jackson, a junior defender from St.
Catherine, Jamaica, was selected as an NAIA
Honorable Mention All-American as he became
only the third player in school history to
receive this honor as he joined Matt
Salisbury (1999) and Josh Robson (1999 and
2000). The former Wolmers High School
standout helped anchor the back line that
posted a school-record 16 shutouts this
season, and he also recorded four goals and
two assists. Jackson now has seven goals and
four assists in his career.
The Cougars finished the 2009 season with
a 17-7-2 overall record and advanced to the
championship match of the American Mideast
Conference Tournament for the second
straight year. The team also capture the
National Christian College Athletic
Association East Region title and finished
fifth at the NCCAA National Tournament in
Kissimmee, Fla.
