For the second time in four
weeks, Jackie Albrecht, a member of the
Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s
volleyball team has been selected as the
American Mideast Conference Player of the
Week as she was honored this time for her
performance during the week of October
13-19.
Albrecht,
5-foot-10 sophomore middle hitter from
Lexington, Ohio, averaged 3.73 kills, 3.60
digs, 0.87 blocks, and 0.33 aces per set for
the week as the Lady Cougars went 5-0 with
five straight three-set sweeps - all on the

National Christian College Athletic
Association East Region title in the past 18
years. The former Mansfield Christian High
School standout had double-doubles against
Ohio Dominican University (11 kills, 15
digs) and Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) College

reception attempts without an error, and
served at a .986 clip with just one error in
72 serve attempts.

team-best .330 attack percentage. She has
also recorded 110 blocks and 39 aces.
For her career, Albrecht has already
registered 874 kills and 825 digs in less
than two full seasons as she attempts to
become the first sophomore in school history
to top both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
MVNU is currently 28-7 overall and 6-3 in
the American Mideast Conference. The Lady
Cougars, who received votes in the latest
NAIA poll, will return to action on Saturday
with a conference tri-match at Carlow (Pa.)
