Springer, two members of the Mount Vernon
Nazarene University women’s volleyball team,
were recently named National Christian
College Athletic Association All-Americans
when the honors were announced at the NCCAA
National Tournament in Lakewood, Colo.

Albrecht, a sophomore middle hitter from
Lexington, Ohio, was named to the NCCAA
All-American First Team after she led the
Lady Cougars with 638 kills, a .309 attack
percentage, and 583 digs. The former
Mansfield Christian High School standout
also posted 139 blocks, 53 aces, and 23
assists, and she registered a .967 serving
percentage and a .959 serve reception
percentage. In just two seasons, Albrecht
has already compiled 1,042 career kills, 947
career digs, 286 career blocks, and 74
career aces.
Springer a junior right-side hitter from
Van Wert, Ohio, was named to the NCCAA
All-American Second Team for the second
straight year. The former Crestview High
School star set a school record with a .960
serve reception percentage. She also
compiled 439 kills, 535 digs, 128 blocks, 92
assists, and a team-high 58 aces. In three
seasons, Springer has become the 12th player
in school history to top both 1,000 career
kills and digs as she stands at 1,195 kills
and 1,280 digs at season’s end.
MVNU finished the season with a 36-11
overall record. The Lady Cougars advanced to
the semifinals of the American Mideast
Conference Tournament, won the National
Christian College Athletic Association East
Region Tournament, and made it all the way
to the semifinals of the NCCAA National
Tournament in Lakewood, Colo.
