MVNU's Albrecht Named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (12-9-2008) - Jackie Albrecht, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team, was selected as an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American when the NAIA All-American Teams were announced on Monday.

Albrecht, a sophomore middle hitter from Lexington, Ohio, had an outstanding season as she led the Lady Cougars with 638 kills, a .309 attack percentage, and 583 digs. She also posted 139 blocks, 53 aces, and 23 assists, and she registered a .967 serving percentage and a .959 serve reception percentage.

In just two seasons, Albrecht has already compiled 1,042 career kills, 947 career digs, 286 career blocks, and 74 career aces.

MVNU finished the season with a 36-11 overall record. The Lady Cougars advanced to the semifinals of the American Mideast Conference Tournament, won the National Christian College Athletic Association East Region Tournament, and made it all the way to the semifinals of the NCCAA National Tournament in Lakewood, Colo.
