MVNU's Milburn Earns NCCAA Player of the
Week Award

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Tiffany Milburn, a
member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene
University women’s volleyball team, has been
selected as the National Christian College
Athletic Association Player of the Week for
her performance during the week of September
17-23.
Milburn,
a senior libero from Centerburg, Ohio,
helped the Lady Cougars to a 5-1 record for
the week that included a 4-1 mark and a
third-place finish at the 10-team Best of
the Best Tournament held at the University
of Saint Francis (Ind.) as she was named to
the All-Tournament Team.
The former Centerburg High School
standout averaged 5.48 digs per game for the
week to go along with a team-high 12 aces.
Milburn posted a 93.1 serve reception
percentage with 11 errors in 160 attempts.
She also had a 94.2 serving percentage. She
posted double digits in digs in all six
matches for the week with her best effort
coming against Saint Francis when she had a
season-high 35 digs in the victory.
On the season, Milburn leads MVNU with
293 digs (5.53 per game) and ranks third on
the team with 22 aces. She has played in all
53 of the team’s games and leads the team
with a 93.5 serve reception percentage. She
also moved into fifth place in school
history in career digs (2,049) and is
already the school’s all-time leader in
serve reception attempts (3,137).
The Lady Cougars are currently 14-1
overall and received votes in the latest
NAIA national poll. MVNU, which is 2-0 in
American Mideast Conference South Division
play, will be back in action at Cedarville
University on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. in
an AMC South Division match.
