MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Audrey Hickinbotham, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team, has been selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association Player of the Week for her performance during the week of September 3-9.

In a victory over then NCAA Division III 16th-ranked Capital University, the former Mansfield Christian High School standout smashed 11 kills. She added 13 kills in a sweep of Indiana University-Southeast, and she closed out the week with a career-high 14 kills in a sweep of Ursuline College.

On the season, Hickinbotham is averaging 2.79 kills, 1.24 digs, and a team-best 0.52 aces per game. She has started and played in all eight of the team’s matches.

MVNU is currently 8-0 to start the season. The Lady Cougars, who received votes in the latest NAIA national poll, will return to action on Tuesday when the team will host Urbana University at 7:00 p.m. in an American Mideast Conference South Division match.
