Tiffany Milburn, a senior libero from
Centerburg, Ohio, was selected as the AMC,
NAIA Region IX, and NAIA National Libero of
the Week. It was the second time this season
that the former Centerburg High School
product had earned the AMC and NAIA Region
IX honors, and she becomes the first MVNU
player ever to receive the NAIA National
Libero of the Week award.
For the week, Milburn averaged 5.14 digs
per game to go with five aces. She also
posted a .950 serve reception percentage
with just six errors in 119 serve reception
attempts. For the season, she has registered
731 digs and 1,021 serve reception attempts,
which both rank third in school history as
far as best single-season totals go. Milburn
is also first in school history in career
serve reception attempts (3,771), second in
career digs (2,487), third in career aces
(203), and eighth in career serve attempts
(2,561).
Kaylin Austen, a sophomore setter from
Shelby, Ohio, was selected as the AMC and
NAIA Region IX Setter of the Week for the
third time this season. The former Shelby
High School standout averaged 12.07 assists
and 1.86 digs per game.
On the season, Austen has compiled 1,655
assists, 63 kills, 52 blocks, 37 aces, and
277 digs. In just two seasons including only
one as a starter, she has moved into eighth
place on the school’s career assists list
with 2,139 assists.
Jackie Albrecht, a freshman middle hitter
from Lexington, Ohio, was chosen as the
National Christian College Athletic
Association Player of the Week. The former
Mansfield Christian High School star
averaged 3.50 kills, 3.64 digs, and 1.79
blocks for the week to go along with one ace
and a .983 serving percentage.
On the season, Albrecht has recorded 362
kills, 367 digs, 140 blocks, and 20 aces.
She has also posted a .953 serving
percentage and a .927 serve reception
percentage.
The Lady Cougars are currently 39-2
overall and ranked 13th in the final NAIA
poll. MVNU, which won the AMC South Division
regular-season title, has earned an
automatic berth into the NAIA National
Tournament for the first time in the
program’s history. This year’s 20-team event
will take place at Columbia College in
Columbia, Missouri, on November 28-December
1. The complete pool play pairings and times
will be released on November 19.
