Two Lady Cougars Earn NCCAA Soccer All-American Status

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (12-6-2007) - Kristy Brandolini and Jessica Estep, two members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's soccer team, were recognized for their performances during the 2007 season when the National Christian College Athletic Association All-American Teams were announced.

Brandolini, a senior forward from Twinsburg, Ohio, was named to the NCCAA All-American First Team for the second straight year. The former Twinsburg High School star registered 14 goals and a team-high 16 assists in her final season. She finishes her career ranked first in school history in goals (70), first in points (189), and second in assists (49).

Jessica Estep, a freshman forward from Mansfield, Ohio, was selected to the NCCAA All-American Second Team following an outstanding first college season. The former Madison High School standout led the Lady Cougars with 22 goals in 22 matches this season while also posting three assists. In just one season, she already ranks fifth in school history in goals.

The Lady Cougars finished the year with a 15-7-1 overall record that included a share of the American Mideast Conference South Division title, the National Christian College Athletic Association East Region title, and a fourth-place finish at the NCCAA National Tournament. MVNU was also ranked 25th in the final NAIA national poll.
