The Mount Vernon Nazarene
University men’s golf team has added another
important player to the team’s 2008-2009
roster with the addition of Adam Nichols,
who has decided to further his education and
continue his golf career with the Cougars.
Nichols,
a native of Massillon, Ohio, played high
school golf at Heritage Christian High
School. As a senior in 2007, he finished in
first place in the ACSI Tournament.
“I am very pleased to have Adam decide to
play golf for MVNU,” said Cougar golf coach
Mark Stiverson. “He is a very talented
freshman golfer. He is coming off a serious
hand injury from a winter accident. We will
be taking his recovery very cautiously and
deliberately as expect some great things in
the future from him.”
In addition to playing golf at Heritage
Christian, Nichols served as the Senior
Class President and was involved in Beta.
“There are several reasons why I chose
MVNU,” said Nichols of his college choice.
“I especially like the Christian professors
and coaches.”
The MVNU golf program finished the
2007-2008 campaign with a 70-35 overall
record. The Cougars also finished fourth in
the American Mideast Conference/NAIA Region
IX Tournament.
