Washington, a forward/midfielder from Lucas, Ohio, recorded 17 goals and seven assists in 16 matches as a senior at Mansfield Christian High School. For her efforts, she was named to the All-District Honorable Mention list following her senior season.

"I am really pleased with Erin’s commitment,” said MVNU head coach Jonathan Meade. "She is a quality person who will add a lot to our team. She has a great personality and has done well in school. Coming from Mansfield Christian, she understands the benefits of participating in a faith community.”

"I like Erin’s size and technical level,” added Meade. "I think these are assets that will help her transition quickly to the college game. I believe that she will be an excellent fit for our team and university, and I look forward to coaching her.”

In addition to playing soccer at Mansfield Christian, Washington played two years of club soccer with Leiderkranz Mid-Ohio United Soccer Club. She is a member of National Honor Society and Art Club, and she served on Student Government as a girls’ representative.

"There are several reasons for me attend MVNU,” said Washington. "The Christian environment is great, and I love the feeling of the small campus. I am really looking forward to playing for Coach Meade. He is doing great things with the team.”

MVNU posted a 15-7-1 overall record in 2007 and was ranked No. 25 in the final NAIA national poll. The Lady Cougars also claimed a share of their fourth American Mideast Conference South Division title in the past five years, and MVNU has won two National Christian College Athletic Association national titles (2003 and 2006).
