MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Tiffany Milburn, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team, was recently selected as the American Mideast Conference and the NAIA Region IX Libero of the Week for her performance in matches played during the week of September 4-10.
Milburn, a junior from Centerburg, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a 4-1 record during the week that included a second-place finish at the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational. For the week, the former Centerburg High School star average 6.05 digs per game while handling 161 serve reception attempts with only four errors (97.5 percent). Milburn set a career high with 36 digs in a win over previously unbeaten Campbellsville (Ky.) University, and she added 32 digs in a victory over Siena Heights (Mich.) University.
On the season, Milburn leads MVNU with 364 digs (5.60 per game) and is averaging 7.65 serve reception attempts per game. She has also served up 21 aces and is second on the team with 325 serve attempts. Milburn has now moved into 13th place in school history with 1,269 digs.
The Lady Cougars are currently 15-4 overall and 2-0 in the AMC South Division. MVNU will return to action on Tuesday with a key conference match at Urbana University at 7:00 p.m.
