NewsMVNU's McLeary Picks up Win with Seven Shutout Inningswritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Marty McLeary, a former standout pitcher at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and a native of Mansfield, Ohio, picked up victory on Saturday night at PNC Park in his second major league start as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Cincinnati Reds 3-0 to snap an eight-game losing skid. McLeary, who improved to 2-0 on the season with the win, allowed just five hits and two walks over seven shutout innings with three strikeouts. He finishes the season with a 0.75 ERA in two starts as he allowed just one run over 12 innings in that role.
