NewsMVNU's Hepner Named NCCAA Player of the Weekwritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Tim Hepner, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s golf team, has been selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association Player of the Week for his performance during the week of September 11-17. Hepner, a junior from Carrollton, Ohio, tied a school record by firing a two-day total of 141 at the Malone College Fall Invitational held at Tannenhauf Golf Club to finish tied for second out of more than 70 golfers. The former Carrollton High School standout’s record-tying score also helped lead the Cougars to a second-place finish in the nine-team event as MVNU set a new school record two-day total of 579 that also included a record-setting one-under-par 287 on the second day. MVNU will return to action on September 29-30 when the team will compete in the Ohio Dominican University Invitational at Cumberland Golf Course in Columbus.
