MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Page Miller, a member of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s soccer team, was recently selected as the American Mideast Conference Offensive Player of the Week and the NAIA Region IX Player of the Week for her performance in matches played October 16-22.
Miller, a sophomore forward from Bethel, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a 1-1-0 record during the week as she scored all three of the team’s goals. In a 2-1 victory at Urbana University, the former Bethel-Tate High School standout scored both goals to keep MVNU in first place in the AMC South Division. Then, in a 2-1 overtime loss at third-ranked Houghton (N.Y.) College, Miller scored the Lady Cougars’ only goal, which was only the sixth goal allowed by Houghton on the season.
On the year, Miller is tied for the team lead with 11 goals including six game-winning goals. She has also registered five assists.
MVNU is currently 10-6-1 overall heading into the postseason. The Lady Cougars went 7-1-0 in the AMC South Division to capture a share of the conference title - the program’s third in the past four years. MVNU will host Tiffin University on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the AMC Tournament first round.
