VERNON, Ohio - Allison Elifritz, a member of the Mount Vernon
Nazarene University women’s soccer team, was recently selected as
the American Mideast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, NAIA
Region IX Player of the Week, and National Christian College
Athletic Association Player of the Week for her performance in
matches played during the week of October 2-8.Elifritz, a senior midfielder from Westerville, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a pair of 3-0 victories during the week in which she was honored. The former Worthington Christian High School standout began the week with a goal and an assist in a victory over Cedarville University and then added two goals in a win over the University of Saint Francis (Ind.). On the season, Elifritz has recorded four goals and three assists. She now ranks fifth in school history with 16 career goals, fourth with 23 career assists, and fifth with 55 career points. MVNU is currently 9-5-1 overall and in first place in the AMC South Division with a 6-1-0 conference mark. The Lady Cougars will travel to Houghton (N.Y.) College, which is ranked third in the latest NAIA national poll, for a non-conference match on Saturday that will begin at 3:00 p.m.
