Four MVNU Volleyball Players Earn AMC
South Division Honors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Four members of the
Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s
volleyball team were
recently honored when the American Mideast
Conference South Division awards were announced.

Highlighting the list for the Lady
Cougars was junior middle hitter Shena
Beheler, a native of Butler, Ohio, who was
named to the AMC South Division First Team
for the second straight year. The former
Fredericktown High School star leads MVNU
with 764 kills and 233 blocks to go with 50
aces and 449 digs. She was also named to the
NAIA Region IX First Team for the second
straight year and is on pace to set new
single-season school records for kills and
kills per game.
Tiffany Milburn, a junior libero from
Centerburg, Ohio, was selected to the AMC
South Division Honorable Mention list. The
former Centerburg High School standout has
already broken the single-season school
records for digs (828) and serve reception
attempts (1,385), and she leads the team
with 63 aces.
Rachael Walpole, a senior setter from
Centerburg, Ohio, joined Milburn as an AMC
South Division Honorable Mention selection.
The former Centerburg High School product
has handed out a team-high 1,344 assists and
compiled 276 kills, 45 blocks, 40 aces, and
320 digs.
Courtney Springer, a freshman right-side
hitter from Van Wert, Ohio, rounded out the
list of MVNU honorees as she was an AMC
South Division Honorable Mention pick and a
member of the six-player AMC South Division
All-Freshmen Team. The former Crestview High
School star is second on the Lady Cougars
with 329 kills to go with 72 assists, 136
blocks, 28 aces, and 282 digs.
MVNU is currently 30-17 overall and
finished AMC South Division play in fourth
place with a 10-6 mark. The Lady Cougars
have advanced to the NAIA Region IX
Tournament on Friday at Walsh University
where the team will take on Roberts Wesleyan
(N.Y.) College in the quarterfinals at 5:00
p.m. The winner of the NAIA Region IX
Tournament will advance to the NAIA National
Tournament. |  |
