Ryan Decker, a senior right-handed pitcher from Dover, Pennsylvania, was named to the Academic All-District IV First Team as only two pitchers were named to each of the two teams. He was an Academic All-District IV Second Team selection last year. This season, the former Dover High School standout posted a 7-3 record with a 3.68 ERA and one shutout. In 73.1 innings of work, he struck out 49 batters and issued just 19 walks. As a History and Criminal Justice double major, he has posted a 3.98 grade point average.

Helm, a senior designated hitter from Centerville, Ohio, was also named to the Academic All-District IV First Team as one designated hitter was selected to each of the two teams. Like Ryan Decker, he was an Academic All-District IV Second Team selection last season. The former Dayton Christian High School star compiled a .395 batting average with 11 doubles, one triple, three home runs, 48 RBI, and 49 runs scored as he played in 49 games with 48 starts. A Communication Studies major, Helm has registered a 3.93 grade point average in the classroom.

Jason Decker, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Dover, Pennsylvania, was one of two pitchers selected to the Academic All-District IV Second Team. The former Dover High School product posted a 2-1 record on the mound with a 7.77 ERA. In 22.0 innings of work, he struck out 12 batters with seven walks. A Criminal Justice and Intercultural Studies double major, he has posted a 4.00 grade point average to date.

The Academic All-District IV College Teams consist of players from NCAA Division II and III and NAIA schools in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Tennessee. Eligible student-athletes are nominated by their school’s sports information director and must have at least a 3.20 grade point average in their sophomore year. Members of the Academic All-District IV First Team are then eligible for Academic All-America consideration, which will be announced on May 29.
