MOUNT
VERNON, Ohio - The Mount Vernon Nazarene
University women’s soccer team has added
another recruit to its roster for the 2007
season with the addition of Jamie Blair, who
has decided to further her education and
continue her soccer career with the Lady
Cougars.Blair, a midfielder from Ashland,
Ohio, was a four-year member of the Ashland
High School soccer program. She was also
recognized all four years as a
scholar-athlete for achievements both on and
off the soccer field.
"I feel really good about Jamie’s
decision to play for the Lady Cougars this
fall,” said MVNU head coach Jonathan Meade.
"She is the type of person that everyone
enjoys having around. She is a hard worker
who quietly gets the job done.”
"Jamie will add depth to both outside
midfield and back positions,” Meade added.
"She comes from a good high school program
where she gained valuable experience playing
at a high level. I am sure that she will fit
into our system well and provide a positive
contribution.”
"There are several reasons why I chose
MVNU,” said Blair of her college choice. "I
really like the small campus environment and
the good education program.”
MVNU finished the season with a 13-7-2
overall record. The Lady Cougars won the
American Mideast Conference South Division
title, the National Christian College
Athletic Association East Region crown, and
the NCCAA national championship.
