Three Lady Cougars Earn NAIA All-American Honors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Three members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s soccer team were honored on Friday when the NAIA All-American Teams were announced.

Highlighting the list for the Lady Cougars was senior goalkeeper Krysti Wilson, who was selected as an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American for the fourth straight year becoming the first player in school history in any sport to receive NAIA All-American honors each year of her career. The former Big Walnut High School standout and Sunbury, Ohio native finished the season with six shutouts and a 1.05 goals against average. She has the MVNU career records with 31 shutouts and a 0.95 career goals against average.

Allison Elifritz, a senior midfielder from Westerville, Ohio, joined Wilson as an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American for the second time in her career. The former Worthington Christian High School product registered six goals and three assists this year and closes her career ranked fourth in school history in assists (23), fifth in goals (18), and fifth in points (59).

Kristy Brandolini, a junior forward from Twinsburg, Ohio, was also named to the NAIA Honorable Mention All-American Team for the second time in her career. The former Twinsburg High School star led the Lady Cougars with 16 goals and 12 assists. Brandolini also moved into second place in school history in assists (33), third place in goals (56), and second place in points (145).

MVNU finished the season with a 13-7-2 overall record. The Lady Cougars won the American Mideast Conference South Division title, the National Christian College Athletic Association East Region crown, and the NCCAA national championship.
