MOUNT
VERNON, Ohio - Shena Beheler, a member of
the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s
volleyball team, has been selected as an
NAIA Honorable Mention All-American for the
second straight year when the NAIA released
its All-American Teams on Monday afternoon.
Beheler, a junior middle hitter from Butler,
Ohio, led the Lady Cougars with a
school-record 792 kills and 242 blocks this
season. She also registered 32 assists, 52
aces, and 463 digs. In addition, her kills
per game average of 4.63 was also a new
school record. Beheler joins former MVNU
standout Tara Seiter (1997 and 1998) as the
only players in the program’s history to be
an NAIA All-American twice.
For her career, Beheler now ranks second
in school history with 2,084 career kills
and 737 career blocks as she trails just
Seiter in both categories. The former
Fredericktown High School star also ranks
eighth in career serve attempts (2,205) and
seventeenth in career digs (1,101).
The Lady Cougars finished the season with
a 31-18 overall record for the program’s
fourteenth straight season with 30 or more
victories. MVNU also reached the NAIA Region
IX Tournament for the thirteenth straight
year and the National Christian College
Athletic Association National Tournament for
the sixteenth straight season. | |
