MVNU's Van Pelt earns NCCAA All-American
honors again

MOUNT
VERNON, Ohio - Josh Van Pelt, a member of
the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s
soccer team, has been selected to the
National Christian College Athletic
Association All-American First Team when the
honors were announced on Monday.Van Pelt,
a senior forward from Maryville, Tennessee,
finished the season with six goals and three
assists for the Cougars. The former William
Blount High School star ranks fourth in
school history with 38 career goals, sixth
with 27 career assists, and fifth with 103
career points.
Van Pelt joins former MVNU soccer players
Josh Robson (1998, 1999, and 2000) and
Trevor Knowles (2001 and 2002) as the only
three Cougar players to earn NCCAA
All-American First Team honors more than
once after being selected in 2005 as well.
He was also the 2006 NCCAA East Region
Player of the Year.
MVNU finished the 2006 campaign with a
7-10-1 overall record and a 4-4-0 mark in
the American Mideast Conference South
