MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Kristy Brandolini, a member of the Mount
Vernon Nazarene University women’s soccer team, has been
selected as the American Mideast Conference and NAIA Region IX
Player of the Week for the second time this season as she earned
the honors this time for her performance during the week of
September 12-18.
Brandolini, a sophomore forward from Twinsburg, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a pair of victories for the week as she had a hand in all five goals that the team scored. In a 1-0 win over Saint Vincent (Pa.) College, the former Twinsburg High School star scored the only goal of the match. Then, in a 4-1 AMC South Division victory at Shawnee State University, Brandolini scored three goals and assisted on the other. On the season, Brandolini has scored a team-high 11 goals in six matches with two assists. She now ranks fourth in school history in career goals with 31, fourth in career assists with 16, and fourth in career points with 78. MVNU is currently 5-3-0 overall and 1-0-0 in AMC South Division play. The Lady Cougars will return to action on Saturday when the team will travel to Wilder, Kentucky for a non-conference match against Virginia Intermont College at the Town and Country Soccer Complex. Kick-off is slated for 5:00 p.m.
