MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Krysti Wilson, a member of the Mount Vernon
Nazarene University women’s soccer team, has been selected as
the American Mideast Conference Defender of the Week and the
National Christian College Athletic Association Player of the Week
for her performance during the week of September 26-October 2.
Wilson, a junior goalkeeper from Sunbury, Ohio, led the Lady Cougars to a pair of shutout victories during the week as MVNU went 2-0-0. In a 2-0 win over Urbana University, the former Big Walnut High School standout stopped four shots. Then, in a 3-0 victory over Grace (Ind.) College, Wilson registered six saves. On the season, Wilson has recorded 56 saves and posted three shutouts. She currently has a 1.09 goals against average, which ranks fifth in the AMC. MVNU, which received votes in the latest NAIA national poll, is currently 8-3-1 overall. The Lady Cougars are also 2-0-1 in the AMC South Division. The team will travel to Walsh University for another conference match on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
