Time Change for MVNU Exhibition Match at Crew Stadiumwritten by Dave Parsons, Sports Information Director
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s soccer team will kick off the 2006 season with an exhibition match against Mid-Continent (Ky.) University at Crew Stadium in Columbus on August 19 at 1:00 p.m.
Due to a concert by Raven-Symone from the Disney Channel show "That's So Raven" that will take place at 6:00 p.m. following the exhibition match and prior to the Crew match, the MVNU vs. Mid-Continent start time has been moved up from the original 3:00 p.m. slot.
This will mark the second time that the Cougars, who are coming off an 11-5-3 record last season, will have the opportunity to play an exhibition match at Crew Stadium, which opened in 1999 as the first stadium in the United States built specifically for soccer.
Following the MVNU vs. Mid-Continent match and the concert, the Columbus Crew will take on the New York Red Bulls at 7:30 p.m. Tickets good for all three events are just $15 and are available by calling the MVNU soccer office at (740) 392-6868 ext. 3104.
