Three Lady Cougars Receive NCCAA All-American Honors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -  Three members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s soccer team were recently recognized when the National Christian College Athletic Association All-American Teams were announced.

Highlighting the list was junior goalkeeper Krysti Wilson, who was named to the NCCAA All-American First Team for the second straight year. The former Big Walnut High School standout and Sunbury native posted a 1.20 goals against average this season with four shutouts.

Leanna Goss, a senior defender from Westerville, joined Wilson on the NCCAA All-American First Team. The former Westerville South High School product was one of only two Lady Cougars to start all 19 matches this season, and she helped anchor the defense that allowed just 26 goals.

Kristy Brandolini, a sophomore forward from Twinsburg, was named an NCCAA Honorable Mention All-American. The former Twinsburg High School star led MVNU with 20 goals and seven assists as she had a hand in 27 of the team’s 47 goals on the year.

The Lady Cougars finished the season with a 12-6-1 overall record and a 6-1-1 American Mideast Conference South Division mark.
