Six Lady Cougars Earn AMC South Division Soccer Honors

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -  Six members of the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s soccer team were honored recently when the American Mideast Conference South Division honors were announced.

 
Kristy Brandolini Krysti Wilson Leanna Goss

Highlighting the list for the Lady Cougars was Kristy Brandolini, a sophomore forward from Twinsburg, Ohio, who was named to the AMC South Division First Team and was the runner-up for the Player of the Year award. The former Twinsburg High School star led MVNU with 20 goals and seven assists.

Junior goalkeeper Krysti Wilson from Sunbury, Ohio, joined Brandolini on the AMC South Division First Team. The former Big Walnut High School standout, who was a repeat selection from a year ago, posted a 1.20 goals against average with four shutouts.

Leanna Goss, a senior defender from Westerville, Ohio, was also a repeat choice to the AMC South Division First Team. The former Westerville South High School product registered one goal and two assists while starting all 19 matches and helping the team post six shutouts.

 

Lindsay See Stacy Robey Mara Hughes

Lindsay See, a junior midfielder from Mansfield, Ohio, was an AMC South Division Honorable Mention selection. The former Crestview High School graduate started all 19 matches and scored one goal.

Stacy Robey, a sophomore defender from New Carlisle, Ohio, was another AMC South Division Honorable Mention choice. The former Northwestern High School product played in all 19 matches and scored one goal with two assists.

Mara Hughes, a freshman defender from Pickerington, Ohio, was also an AMC South Division Honorable Mention pick. The former Pickerington North High School standout played in 15 matches and helped the team post six shutouts.

MVNU finished the season with a 12-6-1 overall record as the Lady Cougars were the American Mideast Conference South Division and NCCAA East Region Tournament runner-ups.
